Police: College Station teens pocket-dialed 911 while smoking pot

Two College Station teens face drug charges after one of them accidently "pocket dialed" 911 this weekend while smoking pot at a residence, according to the College Station Police Department.

Police responded to the residence in the 200 block of Navarro about 4 p.m. Sunday after receiving the 911 call, and interviewed several people at the home.

"Officers were able to determine that there was no emergency and that one of the residents had 'pocket dialed' 911 while smoking marijuana at the residence," the press release states.

Police detected a "strong odor of burnt marijuana" coming from the home and later obtained a search warrant "based on statements made by one of the residents," according to the release.

A search of the home turned up 29 grams of cocaine, 5.3 grams of Hashish oil, 2.7 ounces of marijuana, and $4,131 in cash, police said.

David Marshal Norris, 18, of College Station, has been charged with two counts of manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free school zone, both first-degree felonies; and possession of marijuana in a drug-free zone, a state jail felony, police said.

Kyle Nelson Bading, 19, also of College Station, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was booked into the College Station Jail, where he was released after posting bond.
